EXIGENCE presents “A Vision Unfolding”

A Vision Unfolding is a powerful program by EXIGENCE Vocal Ensemble, a professional group of solo performers, educators, conductors, and composers who transform lives through performance and the artistry of our communities. Under the visionary leadership of founding conductor Eugene Rogers, EXIGENCE celebrates the power of community and expression through choral music—uplifting voices from our communities and using their artistry as a vehicle for change within the cultural landscape of concert choral and vocal music.

Emergent Universe Oratorio

Albany Pro Musica’s Concert Chorus will present the Emergent Universe Oratorio, a dramatic contemporary piece for chorus and orchestra by Sam Guarnaccia. This remarkable work tells the awe-inspiring story of our universe’s origin, evolution, and emergence of life, through to the present environmental and civilizational crises facing our planet. The performance features the Mostly Modern Orchestra; guest soloists Evangelia Leontis, Elizabeth Eschen Cacciola, Brendan Hoffman, and Joseph Han; the Pro Musica International Choral Festival student chorus; and orator Rex Smith. The music is enhanced by a lush and evocative visual set design by painter Cami Davis.

Moving in the Elements

Moving in the Elements is the final performance of the 2025 Pro Musica International Choral Festival and will feature the Student Festival Chorus, comprised of 150 talented high school singers from across North America. Led by Rollo Dilworth, this diverse and engaging performance connects singers and audiences to the elemental world around us with works by Elaine Hagenberg, Eric Whitacre, Frank Tichelli, B.E. Boykin, and others. The concert caps off a remarkable week of learning and music-making, and will showcase the world premiere of a new work commissioned from the Festival’s composer and conductor in residence, Rollo Dilworth.
