Application

The Pro Musica International Choral Festival is for intermediate to advanced students and ensembles. Students in this program should have choral singing experience but do not need to have significant experience of singing in different languages.

Application Requirements

If applying as an ensemble:

• Application fee: $30
• • Audio requirements – Upload a 15-minute excerpt of a live recording from a performance recorded within the past 12 months. Include at least one a cappella and one accompanied selection. Selections submitted must be live and unedited.

If applying as an individual:

• Application fee: $30 (Fee Waiver information in Acceptd application. Email PMICF@albanypromusica.org if you need assistance with Fee Waiver)
• • Audio requirements – following items (1 and 2) to be uploaded as separate audio files on your online application:
• 1) Solo of your choice (preferably sostenuto) which illustrates the quality of your voice.
• 2) Bradley Ellingboe’s “Hate Has No World,” measures 28-71 — Record your voice part with the provided piano accompaniment (click to download). Recording starts at measure 25, please begin singing at measure 28.

Festival Participation Fee 

A participation fee of $1,500 includes student tuition, room and board, and transportation within the Festival. Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to and from Albany, New York. Full and partial scholarships will be available for singers. Scholarship applications will open in December 2024.
